If you were to visit Japan, where would you like to go?
Usually, you might think of Tokyo or Kyoto. But actually, Japan consists of various regions, each with its own unique values and culture. This theme attempts to introduce a deeper insight into the different regions of Japan, so that perhaps one day, you can visit these places and experience more dimensions of Japan.
In addition to the travels around Japan, I will also account for my travels around the globe – to see the world from a “Japanese” perspective.
日本の各地方にはたくさんの魅力があります。
しかし、海外から見た日本は、「東京」「京都」が主なイメージ。
なかなか他の地域に赴くこと、またはそれ以前に他の地域について知る機会はないかもしれません。日本には魅力的な地方がたくさんあるからこそ、「地方発」の情報発信が重要だと感じています。本ブログでは、そんな様々な「地方」について綴ります。
また、私の海外旅行についても記録をしていきます。日本との比較、他国での驚きなどを共有できればと思います。

4. Truly yours, a Kikoku. | とある帰国子女より
NEW theme from 2019 – this is my attempt to bring those “returnees” – kikoku in Japanese – into the limelight. There is a tight kikoku community in Japan, but it is so niche that the image of kikokus are either too generalized or mistaken in society. Yet the truth is that there is a wide diversity of kikokus – and each individual has a unique story. In this theme, I will introduce each of their stories, to provide fresh angles of the kikoku identity in Japan.
2019年の新テーマ！日本社会における「帰国子女」のイメージを大きく変える、そんな想いからはじめました。帰国子女に会ったことのない方、もしくは会ったことはあるけれど、友人にはいないという方はたくさんいると思います。しかし、実は意外と身近に「隠れ帰国」もいるって知っていましたか？「帰国子女」とは、どんな人たち？「普通の日本人」とはどう違うの？ーそんな疑問を、このテーマで明かしていきます。
帰国子女は十人十色。まだあまり理解が深まっていない、この「帰国子女」という人たち一人一人の物語に、スポットライトを当てていきます。
